First Nations Historical Impacts Training Series, Session 2: Historical Impacts

  • Government House, Sto:lo Nation 7201 Vedder Road Chilliwack, BC, V2R 4G5 Canada (map)

This session will explore why, as Indigenous peoples of Canada, we are where we are today, in terms of the negative statistics regarding social and health related determinants.   Many people are aware of the direct results of the residential school era, yet most are unaware of the hundred or more years prior to 1863 as a result of European contact. This session will be enable the participant to trace all the compounding elements of our historical past from contact to 2016.

Facilitator: Molly Willie
